The Chalkboard Bar

When we moved into our home, we had to do things real standard since we were building it on our own and the costs add up quick. So all the pretty little features in the model homes had us oohing and ahhing, then cringing at the upgrade prices. So, we said, “we got this” and thanks to Pinterest, blogs, google, and YouTube, we’ve really surprised ourselves with how well we have collaborated and compromised on putting it all together. We are able to do about one room every two months or so and since Freddy has been deployed by “we” I mean “me” haha. His voice is heard loud and clear however over FaceTime with any suggestions. The man isn’t one to sit back and say, “whatever you want honey.” But that’s ok, cause gosh..that’d be boring.

I used only one can of black Rust-Oleum Chalk Board Paint from Home Depot, and used about three coats of paint giving about 30 minutes of dry time in-between coats. It has a very strong smell so opening a window to defuse the smell is recommended. Then I scoored pinterest for some chalkboard bar inspo, and wa-la. Our once cluttered bar is now serving it’s true purpose with a face-lift for less than $20 bucks! bar decor, diybar decor, diybar decor, diyHope your inspired!
