Valentines With My Galentines ;)

Happy Love Day Friends.

Whether your spending the day with your significant other, the gals, or your family, today is a good day to remember the true meaning behind Valentines day and that is L.O.V.E. This world we live in could always use a little more love and that doesn’t always mean you have to be in a relationship to celebrate it. I’ve been married for 4 years and been with my husband for 10 but I still don’t consider Valentines day all about us. ESPECIALLY now that we have two (going on 3) babies.

My girls are my best girlfriends at the moment so I thought what the heck, my husband works crazy hours I probably won’t get to spend the day with him, lets take pictures! The #onthebed theme of balloons and flowers worked just great as we had some old balloons laying around and I bought the girls $5 carnations which have literally been destroyed with love but they enjoyed every minute of me surprising them with the bed all set up. It’s so much fun seeing them interact with each other now that they are older they can entertain themselves for a good chunk of time letting me get things done around the house.

I believe on this day it’s important to tell ALL your loved ones just how much you LOVE and appreciate them. So don’t forget to call or text your mom and dad, grandpa and grandma’s, brothers/sisters, and great friends and tell them so. Today isn’t just about romance but the importance of remembering that love is not something you can buy, but rather something you achieve and obtain.

Growing up, when I would ask my dad, “dad why are we so poor?” He would reply, “POOR? I’m not poor, I’m the richest man in the world! I have you kids, your mom, this house, a car that runs, and all the love a guy could ask for…that makes me pretty wealthy if you ask me.” And I would roll my eyes and say, “you don’t get it…”

But he did get it, and now I can finally say

….I do too 🙂
