Shaelyn Turns Two
My baby girl definitely isn’t a little baby anymore 🙁 she has grown soo fast right before our eyes and has a personality and attitude all her own. She is certainly a little comedian these days trying anything to get your attention and loves all things Toy Story and Mickey Mouse. She has only recently began to talk a bit more. For a lonnng time, the only word in her vocabulary was “da-da.” So we are finally making strides! I know people say it all the time, but until you really have a child of your own, you just can’t comprehend how fast the time really does go.
Two years ago I was sitting on the couch watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (of all things) attempting to eat ice cream and breathing through contractions before having this beautiful girl of mine. Being a first time mother was challenging for me. I felt as though I wasn’t prepared at all! I had no idea about anything breastfeeding related, I did not read one baby book, and I struggled to keep my gestational diabetes under control that for some odd reason I got through pregnancy. Going in with the “I got this” mentality probably wasn’t the wisest decision, but I’d like to think I picked up the pieces quick (thank you google). I swear I googled just about anything after she was born…”why is she making these noises,” “could my baby really be hungry again,” “how often should one pump,” “why is my baby crying!” HAHA. Crazed I tell ya. But, all kidding aside, I’m really really REALLY blessed to have this baby of mine. Though there are days I often feel as though I struggle as a mother, giving it your all and making sure they are happy is what’s truly important.
We had a nice birthday party at our home with most of our family and friends and couldn’t believe all the gifts, love, and support we received to set up for it. Shae loved every minute of the solid attention lol and was still reeling in it days after.
Happy 2nd birthday my Pudi girl, you are sooooooo loved.
Love Mom
