Easy DIY Valentine’s Day Background Ideas
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and if you’re a photo lover, I’ve got an Easy DIY Valentine’s Background Idea for you to capture some amazing photos with your little ones, significant other, or heck for your fabulous self!
Roaming through Pinterest per usual, I came across a backdrop that spoke to me and my empty wallet at the moment. So I ran to our nearest Dollar Tree, grabbed two newspapers, two red heart balloons, and a pack of heart sunglasses for a whooping total of FIVE bucks, and came home to set up this DIY Valentine’s background for my girls!
Here’s how to replicate this DIY backdrop at home!
- Find an area in your home that has plenty of space for you to lay out two rows of newspaper on the floor and choose the length you want to go by. Tape it down a bit.
- Up against the wall, tape three to four rows of newspaper vertically (go with the height of your subject). You want the paper to be over their head when standing up against the wall for when you crop your photo.
- Make sure to leave a little overlap where the floor and the wall meet to tape them down together so you don’t see the separation of the wall and the floor.
- Set up your photo props, put on those Valentine’s Day outfits, and pull out that camera!
Newspaper not your thing?? Consider buying a roll of wrapping paper and taping that up on the wall and floor to create a seamless backdrop for your own Valentines DIY! OR check out the amazing backdrop options on Amazon for less than $20!
The key to making backdrops stand out is originality and simplicity. You don’t want to get to carried away in over-decorating and taking away from your subject(s). With that said don’t forget the props! I simply used two red heart balloons and my Lips Neon Light that I already had in there room 🙂
Here are some other Neon Light Options that don’t have to be just used for Valentine’s Day 😉
