A Snapshot in Time
So, once again my goal to blog more has been overlooked by endless chores of motherhood, another degree in progress, and just life in general. To tell you the truth I log on here quite often with an idea in mind only to feel like its maybe not the best idea after all. I really have to stop that mental mindset and start blogging for me. I like to write, it’s therapeutic and since I was little I’ve always kept journals trying to savor precious memories or to release difficult emotions. This is sort of like that, I just think I sometimes become saturated with the thoughts of “no one’s gonna read this,” mindset instead of just posting what I want and not give a damn.
All that aside, I’m posting these shots we took with up and coming photographer Hillary Lacy in Arizona who reached out to us over Instagram to do a little photo shoot. I have yet to even take professional photos with Siena as 1. it’s expensive, and 2. I feel like my 11k+ iPhone gallery of the girls will suffice. But, it’s always nice to have someone take your shoots for you and see what they can capture with a different eye. We took these over by the Phoenix Zoo and I loved the simplicity of the shoot, the engagement of Hillary’s enthusiasm and willingness to sing “Let it Go” to achieve Shae’s ever so uninterested attention, AND the beautiful sunlit background that framed us. These mother and daughter photos will be something I cherish years from now as I absolutely adore what she was able to capture.
