Deck the Halls with Target’s Christmas Home Decor Collections: A 2023 Review!
Christmas is quickly approaching, and as the holiday season draws near, stores are already decking their halls with festive decor to entice shoppers. For years, Target has been the go-to destination for budget-friendly home decor. However, this year, the retail giant faced some challenges. It had its first quarterly sales drop in six years, driven by inflation concerns and a social media uproar over its Pride merchandise. Nevertheless, brands are forging ahead, rolling out stunning Christmas home decor holiday collections in hopes of rekindling the festive spirit in consumers. Today I wanted to share two of my favorite picks from two of Target’s most beloved lines: Hearth and Hand by Magnolia, and Threshold with Studio McGee, Christmas collection drops!

What’s absolutely fantastic about the Hearth & Hand Christmas home decor collection is its simplicity and neutral charm. My kids are gonna be so stocked for the letter to Santa cards, and these stockings are what drew me into the store in the first place for our home! Now, I must admit, I’ve grown to have a bit of a struggle with incorporating bold reds into my home decor – it just seems to clash with my vibe as I get older (haha)! But, here’s the twist: when done right, it can be tastefully integrated with neutral color palettes, adding that perfect touch of holiday spirit without overwhelming the senses. The Threshold with Studio McGee Christmas home decor collection is hitting all the right notes this year. It’s bursting with vibrant colors, textures that invite both touch and admiration and an overall visual charm that’s hard to resist. Personally, I’ve got a soft spot for their blankets and accent pillows – they steal the show! Oh, and mark my words, I’ll be amassing a candle or two (or more) from each collection; candles are my absolute Achilles’ heel!
For comparison, I believe both lines have done an exceptional job, but if I had to choose between the two, Hearth & Hand’s collection has truly won my heart this year.
