May Recap
I missed out on an April Recap because we were so busy with the birth of Shyla. But, I really missed doing one because it’s so fun to look back when you forget those tiny details/moments when you don’t seem to write them down. Also, I’ve been wanting to share the more candid/unedited photos in my camera roll and this month I thought I shall. Blogging has been hard to keep up with again as I learn to take on three kids solo most days by the time I have any free time at all, all I can think about is sleep, lol. So without further ado, here are some events that happened this month:Â
- I officially became an AUNT for the first time on May 2nd when my younger brother had his first child, a little girl name Alina. She came about two weeks early and two weeks after Shyla so they are super close! She’s beyond precious and I’m so sad I won’t be able to get up to MN to see her for a couple months yet now that I’ve got three kids to travel with!
2. My other brother came to visit us right at the end of April and the girls had a blast with him. Also my obsession with Shy is strong as you can see and it’s truly amazing how much your love just grows for each child. There is nothing like the smell and feel of a newborn on your chest.
3. Our friends from Cali came to visit us for a bit for Memorial weekend! Freddy and my friends husband have been deployed many times together as well and we lived close to each other while we were in California so it was so fun to host them. We went on an actual kid-less couples date to Top Golf and had a blast.
4. Shy officially turned one month on the Fifteenth and to say the girls are smitten with her is an understatement! They give her endless kisses and hugs and really try to help out with her by giving her a random bottle laying around when she cries (lol) and a blanket for when she spits up, it’s super cute!
5. I’m still learning to balance the three of them alone most times. Since Freddy’s schedule is basically that of a deployed Marine anyway (pun intended) The days can get rather challenging to keep them all entertained. Especially since outings alone are hard since Shyla is so little. As she grows I know it will get easier but some days I really feel for the other two having to be in the house so much. I cherish when friends/family come over to help and pop my list of “to-do’s” out fast to get done once they are here to lend a hand, lol.
6. At the end of the month I got to do a really fun videography collab with a company called Wellements that sells baby products like gripe water. It is a super fun and exciting project that we actually got to film in our own nursery! You can check out our nursery HERE if you missed the post. As soon as it drops I will make sure to share it as it’s all of our big acting débuts, haha.
That about caps up most of the excitement in May. Now, bring on summer!
XOXO
