February Recaps

Another month has come and gone and just like all the others it flew by. We are officially ONE month and 4 WEEKS until baby girl number 3’s due date!! I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone, definitely the fastest one yet which is better sweet being that it is our last. There are days where I can’t wait till I have my body back and then there are days when all I can think about is how sad it is that my body will never again grow and nurture a beautiful little soul. I’m so emotionally conflicted about the whole thing but such is life.

Few things that happened this month:
  1. Found out I have gestational diabetes for the second time (I had it before with Shae) which has been a true challenge as ice cream is kinda my thing! Actually anything sweet. Cutting down and counting carbs is a full time job. I mean it’s actually quite astonishing how much Americans just abuse the ability for our bodies to produce insulin so we can have energy. I’m planning on doing a whole blog post about this and the meals/snacks that have become my go-to’s for any other mothers out there who read the blog and have had similar experiences.
  2. Shae is doing so well in preschool and absolutely loves going to school and riding the bus. I’ve already noticed how much more she is talking and now she can actually tell me “yes and no” without whining for me to understand. She has started saying full sentences and looking us in the eye when she speaks. These were some serious struggles for us with her as she was so delayed in this aspect. For along time I felt like it was our fault, that we were doing something wrong in helping her develop these skills. But I know that’s not the case. Each kid goes at his/her own pace and forcing them to “be where you think they should be” or where everyone tells you they should be developmentally will only stress them out and yourselves. Let them go at their own pace but give them the tools and access to help that is available. I’m so glad we started speech therapy early with her which has allowed us to get her into preschool early to continue getting the extra help she needs for her communication skills. So so proud of her progress.
  3. We enjoyed a nice week long family visit with my aunt and uncle from Minnesota and my three cousins. The girls had a blast!
  4. Trying to finish up the babies nursery for under $300! This includes crib, rocking chair, rug, curtains, dresser…ok like everything…haha so mostly thrifted it is!
  5. Still haven’t gotten a new car yet and time is winding down. We just have a strict budget and can’t seem to come to an agreement on one particular SUV style. Why are SUV’S sooo much money?!
  6. We went to Lost Dutchman Days over by Apache Junction, AZ and played with one of Freddy’s coworkers beautiful horses this past weekend where most of these pics where taken. It was a blast.
XOXO
