Big Bear Lake

It has been soo nice having Freddy back home. Right now he is on his leave and spending two weeks with us before he has to go back to work. We have truly been enjoying our time together as a family again after that seriously lonnnng six month deployment. It was hard raising the girls on my own, going to school, and living in a new community but we did it!

Since he has been back we have been enjoying being lazy, lots of movie watching, pool time, and organizing the house. I’m talking every drawer has been getting attacked with his organization skills lol. Thank goodness one of us is on top of things, it has to be the Marine Corps training in him.

Freddy’s grandparents are kind of the opposite of snow birds being here in AZ and spend their whole summer camping up in the White Mountains near Pinetop, AZ where it’s cooler. He used to go with them all the time when he was little and really wanted us to see what it was like and relieve some of his memories, so we loaded up the Subi and off we drove to give the girls their first camping experience. It was beautiful up there and so much cooler than down in the valley. Shae fished for the first time, and we enjoyed a nice homemade camped dinner and a good ol’ fire to roast some s’mores. Even though I used to camp quite often growing up in Minnesota with my family, I forgot how rough it can be at times lol. Shae feel down and scrapped up her knee, Siena fell out of the camper and scuffed up her chin, and somehow I got stuck by a bee right on the neck! Needless to say, it was fun and anytime we travel as a family just makes the experience ten times better.
